Local Rules

Please note that Golf Ireland’s Hard Card along with additional local rules published on site will apply for the event. These will be circulated to all players in advance of the Championship. Local Rules published on the club’s scorecard and notice board will not be applicable.

Photography/ Videography

It is usual for photographs and video footage to be taken during Championships and these may be used in the promotion of the game.  However, we would ask you to bear in mind that you have the right to refuse the use of your image and that you can report any concerns you have to the Tournament Director.  Those intending to take photographs at the Championship will be asked to register with the Competition Director.

Pace of Play

It is essential that all familiarise themselves with the pace of play procedures prescribed by Golf Ireland (see Competition Policy No.5 on p.29 of Golf Ireland’s Competition Regulations), shot timings and penalties that are applicable under this condition.

The Championship Committee encourages players to play “Ready Golf” in all Stroke Play rounds. Simply put, "ready golf" means that each golfer within a group hits when ready – provided it is safe to do so.

Examples of Ready Golf include:

  • Hitting a shot when safe to do so if a player farther away faces a difficult shot and takes time to assess options.
  • Shorter hitters playing first from the tee or fairway if longer hitters have to wait.
  • Hitting a tee shot if the person with the honour is delayed in being ready to play.
  • Hitting a shot before helping someone to look for a lost ball.
  • Putting out even if it means standing close to someone else’s line.
  • Hitting a shot if a person who has just played from a greenside bunker is still farthest from the hole but is delayed due to raking the bunker.
  • When a player’s ball has gone over the back of a green, any player closer to the hole but chipping from the front of the green should play while the other player is having to walk to their ball and assess their shot.
  • Marking scores upon immediate arrival at the next tee, except that the first player to tee off marks their card immediately after teeing off.

Prize Presentation

The Presentation of Prizes will take place approximately 15 minutes after the conclusion of play on Sunday 2nd June 2024
