FIELD LIMIT
The field will be limited to 96 qualified entrants. At the close of entry, the field will be filled by the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and Golf Canada Handicap Factors in addition to exempt players and Presidential Invitees.
ENTRY DEADLINE
Entry applications, along with the appropriate fee, must be completed or received by the PNGA by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024.
REFUND POLICY
Refunds due to cancellation before the close of entry are subject to a $10 service charge. After the close of entry and up until round one pairings are released, players who withdraw for any reason will be refunded 50% of the entry fee. No refund for any reason will be issued after round one parings have been released.
COURSE YARDAGE
Course yardage is subject to change based on weather/course conditions. Hole-by-hole yardages are included at the end of this document. Course Yardage: 6,265 yards, par-72
ONSITE REGISTRATION
All contestants must register in person with the PNGA at Tacoma Country & Golf Club prior to starting round one play. Registration will be located outside the golf shop during the following times:
SUNDAY, JULY 7: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
MONDAY, JULY 8: 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS
Round one and two starting times (stroke play qualifying) will be released on Monday, July 1. Preferred starting time requests will not be accepted. Starting times will be posted on the PNGA website (thepnga.org), on the Championship Portal and will be emailed to each player.
SCHEDULE
STROKE PLAY: 36-hole stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play. A tie for lowest qualifying scorer or the last qualifier’s place will be decided immediately by a hole-by-hole play-off after the final group finishes on Tuesday, July 9.
MONDAY, JULY 8 (Round 1): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
TUESDAY, JULY 9 (Round 2): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
MATCH PLAY: A draw based on qualifying scores will be used. Ties in qualifying rounds will be decided by a blind draw.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 10 (Round of 32): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 10 (Round of 16): Starting times from 12:30 p.m. – 1:40 p.m.
THURSDAY, JULY 11 (Quarterfinals): Starting times from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
THURSDAY, JULY 11 (Semifinals): Starting times from 12:30 p.m. – 12:40 p.m.
FRIDAY, JULY 12 (Finals): Starting time at 7:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
PRACTICE ROUND
Contestants may play one complimentary practice round prior to the championship. Practice rounds will be available in the afternoon on Saturday, July 6 or Sunday, July 7 for all contestants. Players can play their complimentary practice round on either day and will need to check in with the golf shop upon arrival to get in line on the tee sheet as Tacoma C&GC does not take tee times. All practice round starting times are at the discretion of the golf shop staff.
FOOD SERVICE (NO-HOST)
Food service will be available at the pro shop snack bar each day from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with breakfast and lunch options, along with snack items and beverages. Players will be able to access the snack shack when making the turn.
PLAYER LUNCH (HOSTED)
The PNGA will host a complimentary player lunch following both rounds of stroke play qualifying. Lunch will be available in the clubhouse from 12:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Monday, July 8 and Tuesday, July 9.
BOTTLED WATER
The PNGA will provide bottled water during the championship. Coolers will be at multiple locations on the golf course. A beverage cart will not be on the course during play.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
Tacoma C&GC accepts all major credit cards and cash as methods of payment.
HOURS OF OPERATION
The golf shop and driving range will be open from 6:30 a.m. to dusk each day.
RANGE BALLS
Warm up range balls will be provided to contestants on the driving range before each round.
CARTS
The Local Rule prohibiting the use of motorized transportation as prescribed in Section 8 of the Committee Procedures is in effect. Players must walk at all times unless authorized by a member of the Committee.
SPECTATOR CARTS
To provide an equal championship platform for all competitors, the use of carts by spectators is not permitted by the PNGA.
CHAMPIONSHIP ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABLED SPECTATORS
The PNGA is committed to providing an enjoyable spectator experience for people with disabilities at PNGA championships. Requests from spectators seeking transportation onto the golf course due to a permanent disability, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), should be submitted one week in advance to the PNGA Championship Department. While spectator carts may not always be available at each site, the PNGA will make every effort to accommodate these requests when available.
Generally, an ADA covered disability is defined as a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities of the individual”. See, 42 USCA §12102. Spectators with a “temporary” injury or impairment that is not an ADA disability will not be allowed use of a golf cart under this Policy.

PULL CARTS
Host club pull carts will not be available. Players can provide their own pull carts.
CADDIES
Players seeking a host club caddie can contact the pro shop to inquire on availability. Host club caddies are not guaranteed to be available. Contestants may provide their own caddie. Caddies will be required to wear a caddie bib provided on the starting tee.
PRIZES
Crystal prizes will be awarded as follows:
Stroke Play – A crystal medallion will be awarded to the qualifying Medalist. The Medalist’s name will also be engraved on the Liz Culver Perpetual Trophy.
Match Play – Crystal awards will be presented to the Champion, Runner-up and Semifinalists. The Champion will have her name engraved on the PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship Perpetual Trophy.
Awards will also be given to any contestant who scores a hole-in-one or eagle during stroke play qualifying rounds.
AWARDS CEREMONY
An awards ceremony will take place on the putting green after play is completed at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12.
USGA AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP EXEMPTION
The Pacific Northwest Women’s Amateur is a USGA Exemption Event. The champion will earn an exemption into the 2024 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship held at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla. on August 5-11, 2024.
PNGA EXEMPTION
The Champion will receive a lifetime exemption into the PNGA Women’s Amateur Championship.
PERFORMANCE POINTS
Performance points may be awarded for the PNGA Women’s Amateur through the player’s respective state or provincial association.
GHIN SCORE POSTING
The PNGA will post competition scores during stroke play qualifying for all players on the USGA GHIN System. Players will need to submit their stroke play scores to BC Golf for posting in Canada. Players should post their adjusted match play scores.
DRESS CODE
Players and caddies must be neat in appearance with respect to personal grooming and clothing while on host club property. The PNGA Dress Code Policy is available at the following link: thepnga.org/championship-home/championship-policies/
CODE OF CONDUCT
The PNGA expects all contestants, caddies, gallery, and guests to exhibit proper conduct and behavior on the golf course and anywhere on club property during a PNGA Championship. Unbecoming conduct or behavior may be grounds for immediate disqualification, at any time, from any PNGA event. The following are some examples of unbecoming conduct or behavior:
- Repeated use of loud, abusive, and/or profane language
- Throwing and/or breaking equipment (club, ball, etc.) in anger or frustration
- Damaging host club, PNGA, and/or fellow contestant property
- Public criticism or verbal abuse of host club, officials, volunteers or staff, and/or PNGA volunteers, staff or fellow contestants
- Potential endangerment of others
- Intentionally violating stated club policy
- Violation of PNGA Dress Code and/or Footwear Policy
- Littering or other improper disposal of water bottles, including placing next to on-course coolers
- Other conduct deemed unbecoming
The Committee in charge of the competition shall be the sole judge of Conduct Code violations.
UNOFFICIAL WITHDRAWAL
During play of the championship, a competitor who withdraws must notify PNGA staff and fill out a withdraw form. Entrants who unofficially withdraw (by not notifying PNGA staff or without having sufficient reason to withdraw) will not be granted entry into any future PNGA championship for a minimum of two years.
PACE OF PLAY POLICY
Players are encouraged to be familiar with the PNGA’s Pace of Play Policies: Stroke Play, Match Play, which are in effect at all championships.
LOCAL RULES AND TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
Players are encouraged to be familiar with the PNGA’s 2024 Local Rules and Terms of the Competition, which will be in effect at all championships.
PROHIBITED USE OF AUDIO EQUIPMENT
Rule 4.3 is modified in this way: During a round, a player is not allowed to use an electronic device to listen to music or other audio (such as podcasts or the like), including by using speakers, headphones or earbuds. Penalty for breach of Local Rule - see Rule 4.3.
