PLAYOFFS

The top 8 teams in each division will advance to the playoffs. Any season-ending point ties will be broken by results from heads-up matches during the regular season.  Playoffs are 9-hole net fourball matches for the first three weeks of playoffs. Semi-finals and finals are 18-hole Net Fourball matches with competing teams scheduling tee times on their own.  Dedicated tee times will be blocked on Thursday evenings for playoff matches but matches can be played at any time that week.

HANDICAPS

Every member in the league must have a current IGA handicap. Handicap indexes update daily so handicaps for league matches will be based off the handicap report the day of league. If you do not have an official handicap index, you will be assigned a poor temporary handicap until one is established.

Each player will be awarded their handicap strokes as they fall on the 9-hole scorecard, meaning if a player is a 2 handicap they will receive one stroke on the two hardest holes on the course, which for a 9-hole match will be on the single hardest handicap hole on that side. League is match play format so the lowest handicap player in each match is adjusted to a zero and then all other players in the match are reduced by the same amount. EXAMPLE, if Player A is a 5 handicap and the lowest handicap player in the match, he will be taken to zero strokes and his partner Player B (10 Handicap) will be adjusted down to a 5, and their opponents Player C (14 handicap) adjusted to a 9, and Player D (18  handicap) adjusted to a 13.

When signing up you are required to select which set of tees you would like to play from. Tees must be established before the start of league play and cannot be changed mid-season. Please remember that your course handicap will change based on the tees you play and will affect the number of strokes you receive in a match.

RAIN DATES, SUBSTITUTES & FORFEITS

If a week of league play gets rained out, instructions on how that week will be made-up will be sent out by the pro shop.

You may reschedule any match that you or your partner cannot attend if it is agreed upon by the other team. If a match is not played and you fail to get the match in by the date set by the pro shop, then that match will be considered a tie and each team will receive 9 points. It should be every team’s goal to keep their matches up to date so that the league point totals are accurate throughout the season.

Substitutes are allowed for league; however, they must be a current member with a handicap, and not on another team in league. Substitute players must be submitted to the pro shop by that Thursday at 10 AM. You are encouraged to find your own substitute, or you are welcome to request a substitute through the pro shop. However, a sub is not guaranteed. All sub requests must be made to the pro shop by the end of the day Tuesday on the week of the match. Please consider having a permanent alternate member dedicated to your team if you know there are a handful of weeks you are going to miss.

If a team or player is unable to play a certain week or a sub is unavailable, you have two options: you can take the other team on solo and try to win the low net on each hole to halve the match, or forfeit the match. If you must forfeit a match the opposing team will only receive 14 points and your team 4 for that match. If you choose to take them on solo, you run the risk of being skunked 18-0 so choose wisely. Players affected by a team forfeiting are still welcome to play for skins and proxies.
