About Lingdale

Lingdale Golf Club nestles in the picturesque surroundings of Charnwood Forest in the heart of the North West Leicestershire countryside.

In 1966 Course Architect David Tucker purchased 60 acres of land in the Charnwood Forest and by 1967 the original 9-hole course was in play.Throughout 2017 Lingdale Golf Club celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a number of special Anniversary celebrations. These included a Back In Time event whereby current and past members got to play the golf course in its original nine hole layout. Next up was a special Anniversary Weekend Members competition whereby all members had the opportunity to win £500 off of their 2018 subscriptions. The main event of the year was a 50th Anniversary Gala Dinner which was attended by 176 members and guests, this took place in the clubhouse and a special marquee which was fitted to the side of the clubhouse. The final Anniversary event was a 50th Anniversary Shotgun Open, this proved so popular that an afternoon event was also added in meaning that for the first time in Lingdale history a double shotgun start competition took place.

Rules and Information

Golf Format:

The event is played as a four-ball better ball format off 85% of your official handicap using stableford scoring under the rules of golf, and following WHS guidance.

As in any stroke play competition scoring putts must be holed, there is no such thing as a gimme in stroke play competition where you are playing against a field.

Handicap Certificates:

All handicaps will be checked online. Please have a certificate or Golf App available on your phone to show the team.  You may wish to have a certificate on your phone available in case of issues as WHS is not always perfect.

Prizes:

Prizes will be sent out after the event either by email for vouchers or by post with 72 hours of the event. This allows for time to do handicap checks before awarding any prizes. There will be no prizes handed out on the day or any prize giving. Please also be aware that if email addresses are not provided for all golfers upon registration it can be very difficult for the winner to receive their prize.

Golf Carts:

We permit the use of golf carts for medical reasons only.  We accept self certification.  Please arrange directly with the club.
