NOTICE TO PLAYERS
Champions Cup (Team and Individual)

(This supplements the Terms of the Competition, Standard Local Rules and includes Supplementary Local Rules for the event.

 

- Play is governed by Rules of Golf (effective January 2023 – USGA/R&A/Golf Canada), the Local Rules and Terms of the Competition for the Golf Saskatchewan events/competitions and following Terms and Local Rules.
- Local Rules posted at the host club or on the host club scorecard do not apply.
- Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Term is the General Penalty - Two Strokes.

  2. FLIGHTS/DIVISIONS:
  1. Players are flighted in the divisions which they are representing.  
  2. Top two player in each division will be awarded prizes based on highest point totals. (8 divisions)
  1. DESIGNATED PRACTICE AREAS:  
  1. Practice is permitted on the practice putting and chipping green near the clubhouse | Driving range nets.
  2. All practice areas are part of the General Area.
  3. All Practice Greens are Wrong Greens and relief MUST be taken for stance and swing.
  1. OUT OF BOUNDS (O.B.):
  1. Defined by white stakes/directional lines, and boundary fences including maintenance area (RHS #17) 
  1. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS (ACC): (Nearest Point of Relief, Free Relief – NPR)
  1. Hole #11, wet area in front of the putting green (approx. 50 yards off the front of the green).
    The player may take NPR or play the ball it as it lies. 
  2. Hole #11, in the fairway only, if a player’s ball lies on a bare patch (aka - dirt).
    The player may play the ball as it lies or take NPR, no nearer the hole.  
  1. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS CLOSE TO THE PUTTING GREEN:
  1. Model Local Rule F-5 is in effect. The player may take relief under Rule 16-1b if an immovable obstruction is on the line of play and is on or within two club-lengths of the putting green, and within two club-lengths of the ball.
  1. DROP ZONES:
  1. Hole #7 – for a ball ending up penalty area (behind the green) the player may use the Drop Zone stake. 
  2. Hole #12 - for a ball ending up penalty area (short right of the putting green) the player may use the Drop Zone stake as an additional option.  
  1. HOLING OUT:
  1. Reminder, under this format a player does not have to hole out.
  2. If you are at a double bogey, please pick up you ball and put an X on your scorecard.
  1. POINT TOTALS:
  1. Our computer program will calculate the Stableford points for individual and team competitions.
  2. This is not required by the player/marker but we do ask for an identifiable score or X on the 18 hole locations.   
  1. RETURN SCORECARD:
  1. Please have two signatures on the scorecards and legible marks on each hole.
  2. Please be patient in the scoring area as many groups will finish at the same time. 
  1. DID YOU PLAY 2 BALLS:  ​​​​​​​If you are in doubt and play 2 balls under Rule 20.1, you must report the facts to the Committee regardless of the score(s) on the hole before signing your scorecard and leaving the scoring area.
  2. SCORING AREA: will be located in the clubhouse.
  3. PLAYOFF: In the event of a tie, the Golf Saskatchewan Tie Breaking will be used for the overall team championship only. All other divisions will be using the Tie Breaking method.
  4. EVACUATION PLAY: in the event of a suspension of play for a dangerous situation (signaled by one blast of an air horn), players must stop play immediately and move as quickly to the clubhouse as possible.
