All rules are governed by the RCGA and the following local rules.

 

FORMAT: 54 Hole STROKE PLAY

 

If your ball lies in a part of the GENERAL AREA cut to fairway height or less, you may LIFT, CLEAN, & PLACE within one club length, no closer to the hole.

                               

BLACK TEES – MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION

BLUE TEES – MEN’S REGULAR DIVISION

WHITE TEES – MEN’S SENIOR DIVISION (55yrs +)

 

FLIGHTING – Will be completed after the second round.

 

UNDUE DELAY AND PACE OF PLAY: Competitors will not unduly delay the pace of play and will be responsible for maintaining their position on the golf course, which is directly behind the group of competitors in front of them. Competitors identified by the committee as being “out of position” on multiple occasions will be subject to penalty at the discretion of the Committee. 

               

First offence – Warning to the group

                Second offence if pace has not improved – 1 stroke penalty to each group member

                Third offence if pace has not improved – 2 stroke penalty to each group member

 

OUT OF BOUNDS: Is defined by the nearest inside points of white stakes or boundary fences surrounding the golf course. 

 

CUT TREE STUMPS and/or GROUND TREE STUMPS:  In the event your ball lies in, on, or near recently cut, ground, or removed tree stumps, including surrounding loose soil, you may obtain relief by lifting, cleaning and dropping your ball at the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole so long as full relief is taken.  Relief entitles you to a free and clear swing from the repaired area but does not entitle you to line of site.

 

STAKED TREES / PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES:    If such a tree interferes with a player’s stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball MUST be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 16.1 (Immovable Obstruction).  The ball may be cleaned when lifted under this Local Rule.

 

ROOT RULE:  In the event that you find your ball within one grip length of an exposed root, you may lift, clean and place your ball so that relief is taken from the root.  Up to one (1) grip length of relief is allowed.

 

PUTTING SURFACE:  You may, under Rule 13.1c(2) repair damage on the putting green (see rule for reference).  Additionally, under this local rule, you may repair any surface blemishes caused by maintenance practices and/or natural occurrences.

 

GPS & DISTANCE FINDING DEVICES: Are permitted during the round so long as slope functions are not available or turned off.

 

GROUND UNDER REPAIR:    Areas marked in white paint are considered Ground Under Repair and relief may be taken under Rule 16.1

 

HOLE #14 FORECADDIE:  A volunteer forecaddie will be positioned at the top of the hill on Hole #14.  Their responsibility is safety and pace of play.  They will assist in spotting balls if they can see the ball.  These volunteers may not be able to pick up a ball in flight.  You can assist by giving them a signal, but please treat them with respect if they do not see your tee shot.

 

PENALTY AREAS:  Are defined by red lines and/or stakes.

 

ENVIRONMENTALLY SENSITIVE AREA: The area identified by white stakes to the left of the road on hole #10 and left side of hole #11 is considered an environmentally sensitive area. A ball that comes to rest within this area MUST be dropped in accordance with Rule 16-1b. If there is reasonable evidence that a ball is lost within this area, the player may take relief without penalty as prescribed in Rule 16-1e.

 

SUSPENSION OF PLAY FOR A DANGEROUS SITUATION:  When play is suspended for a dangerous situation, players in the process of playing a hole shall discontinue play immediately and shall not thereafter resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. One prolonged siren or horn note shall signal a suspension for a dangerous situation. Two intermittent siren or horn notes shall signal resumption of play.

 

RULES COMMITTEE: All other rulings not covered by the above will be left at the discretion of the Committee whose decision on any matter will be final. If a competitor is in doubt as to a ruling and a member of the committee is unavailable, the player shall proceed with a second ball under rule 20.1c(3)

 

TIES:  In the event of a tie for first place overall in the Championship, Men’s or Senior divisions, a sudden death playoff will be held to break the tie.  Tie breaker hole rotation will be #13, #18, #13 #18 etc. until a winner has been decided.  All other ties in all other flights where prizes are involved will be broken using the USGA best last 9-6-3-1 method of retrogression.
